..ready for Summer!

Finally it's time for us to see the REAL summer in the sunny (hopefully!) Mallorca.

This time I didn't organize any photo shoot, so my only job will be lie down on the beach and spend really good time with my husband. See you next week!

Finalmente è arrivato il momento anche per noi di vedere la VERA estate nella soleggiata (si spera!) Maiorca.

Questa volta non ha organizzato nessun photo shoot, quindi il mio unico compito sarà quello di sdraiarmi in spiaggia e trascorrere delle belle giornate con mio marito. Arrivederci alla prossima settimana!

This week on my coffee table: JAPON AU POINT DE CROIX

Happy monday to all of you!
I hope that you enjoyed the weekend. We're almost ready to leave for few days in the sunny Mallorca (just to see the REAL summer), but today I'm happy to share with you a new book that I've "discovered" few weeks ago in this lovely blog, Planet Fur.
The book is called "Japon au point de croix" (Anne Soier-Fournel, Photography by Hiroko Mori, Marabout Ed.), and as you easly understand, it's a book about the cross stitch. To be honest I never tryed and I have absolutely no idea if it's difficult or not, but I thought: "If I have to try, let's try with something beautiful"! And since I have a big passion for Japan, this is the perfect book. The thing that I like most, is the fact that it's not just a book about cross stitch and patterns (gorgeous patterns by the way!), but it's also a photographic book about Japan. The paper quality it's really high and the patterns seem really simple to understand and well made. At the moment (because of the fair projects) I haven't absolutely time to try, but this could be a nice winter hobby!

Buon lunedì a tutti!
Spero che abbiate passato bene il fine settimana. Noi siamo quasi pronti a partire per qualche giorno nella soleggiata Maiorca (giusto per ricordare come è fatta la VERA estate), ma oggi sono felice di condividere con voi un nuovo libro che ho "scoperto" qualche settimana fa in questo blog molto carino che seguo da un po', Planet Fur.
Il libro si chiama "Japon au point de croix" (Anne Soier-Fournel, fotografie di Hiroko Mori, Marabout Ed.), e come si capisce facilmente, è un libro sul punto croce. Ad essere onesti non ho mai provato e non ho assolutamente idea se sia difficile o meno, ma ho pensato: "Se devo provare, proviamo con qualcosa di bello"! E siccome ho una grande passione per il Giappone, questo è il libro perfetto. La cosa che mi piace di più, è il fatto che questo non è solo un libro sul punto croce e sui vari modelli che si possono copiare (modelli bellissimi tra l'altro!), ma è anche un libro fotografico sul Giappone. La qualità della carta è davvero alta e gli schemi sembrano veramente semplici da capire e ben fatti. Al momento (a causa dei progetti per la fiera) non ho assolutamente tempo di provare, ma questo potrebbe essere un bel passatempo invernale!


ps. so che la scorsa settimana vi ho promesso una recensione di un altro libro, ma spero comunque che questo vi sia piaciuto!

Flickr says it's Friday {House of my dreams ed.}

I'm so happy that it's finally Friday! I'm really tired and I need few days of relax.
Yesterday we had our first visit to a house that the agent suggested us..may I say that I'm in love for this house? I know that it's only the first one, but it's really beautiful and I think it's perfect for us. It's from 1929 and it's a house with great charm, despite the age! From yesterday I'm studying the brochure that the agent gave us and I'm trying to imagine how the rooms, the big livingroom and the garden could be with my personal touch. My husband and the agent are both in agreement to "keep my feet on the ground"...I know, this is my problem. When I'm over excited for something I can't stay calm and think rationally, I fell full of energy and at this point I'm also seriously worried that someone else could "steal" us this lovely house. I'm becoming paranoiac!


What's your personal experience about it? If you bought a house, how did you understood that was "the right one"?

Sono così felice che sia finalmente venerdì! Sono davvero stanca e ho bisogno di qualche giorno di relax.
Ieri abbiamo avuto la nostra prima visita ad una casa che la nostra agente ci ha suggerito..posso dire che mi sono innamorata di questa casa? So che è solo la prima, ma è veramente bella e penso che sia perfetta per noi. E' del 1929 ed è una casa con grande fascino, nonostante l'età! Da ieri sto studiando l'opuscolo che l'agente ci ha dato e sto cercando di immaginare come le camere, il grande soggiorno e il giardino potrebbero diventare grazie al mio tocco personale. Mio marito e l'agente sono entrambi d'accordo a farmi tenere "i piedi per terra"... E va bè, lo so, questo è il mio problema. Quando sono supere eccitata per qualcosa non riesco a stare calma e pensare razionalmente, ma anzi, sono piena di energia e iperattiva..e allo stato attuale sono anche seriamente preoccupata che qualcun altro possa "rubarci" questa bella casa. Sto diventando paranoica!


Qual è la vostra esperienza personale a riguardo? Se avete comprato una casa, come avete capito che era "quella giusta"?

For the garland I've used adhesive paper (the same that I've used for the cabinet) and the mason jar could be replaced by any other glass vase (souce, jam..).

Ho trovato queste due idee navigando sul web e ho pensato "ci devo provare!".

Sono (come al solito) talmente super facili che le spiegazioni non sono necessarie!

Per la ghirlanda ho usato della carta adesiva (la stessa che ho usato per rivestire il buffet) e il vaso da conserve potrebbe essere sostituito da un altro vasetto di vetro (vanno benissimo quelli della salsa, della marmellata..).

Flea market ~ Easy inpiration

A couple of days ago, I've been to one of my favorite flea market. I was looking for some table lamps to use for my fair projects, but unfortunatelly I didn't find anything that was good for that purpose. 
But of course I've found something really nice for my vintage collection: a lovely teapot, that now has a honor place on my cabinet, and a oven casserole (the date is 1975!). Lovely, don't you think?


But I have another nice inspiration for you today!
Yesterday evening we've organized a dinner at our place with some italian friends and I've finally used my new (old) plates. For me they are new, since I never used them before, but they are five or six years old. It's a gift from my grandma, that bought this set of china in Italy, at the local Ikea store. But I never brought them here in the NL, until last month, when we decided to come here by car. Here and here you can see few pictures that I've made yesterday evening using Instagram app. And here's the inspiration: I've decided to make a nice and easy centre-piece, using a mason jar like a candle holder. I think it's really nice and original!
A perfect decoration for a summer table, maybe on a balcony or in the middle of a garden..and why don't add some fresh aromathic herbs? ;-)

Un paio di giorni fa, sono stata ad uno dei miei mercatini preferiti. Stavo cercando alcune lampade da tavolo da utilizzare per i miei progetti per la fiera, ma sfortunatamente non ho trovato niente che potesse andar bene per questo scopo.
Ma naturalmente ho trovato qualcosa di veramente carino per la mia collezione di pezzi vintage: una bellissima teiera, che ora ha un posto d'onore nel mio buffet, e una casseruola da forno (datata 1975!). Io li trovo perfetti, che ne dite?


Ma oggi ho un'altra bella idea da proporvi!
Ieri sera abbiamo organizzato una cena a casa nostra con alcuni amici italiani e ho finalmente usato i miei nuovi (vecchi) piatti. Per me sono nuovi, perché non li ho mai usati prima, ma li ho da cinque o sei anni. Si tratta di un regalo di mia nonna, che ha acquistato questo servizio di piatti in Italia, presso il negozio Ikea. Ma non li ho mai  portati qui in Olanda fino al mese scorso, quando abbiamo deciso di venire qui in macchina. Qui e qui potete vedere alcune foto che ho fatto ieri sera con Instagram. Ed ecco l'idea: ho deciso di fare un semplice centrotavola, utilizzando un vaso da conserve come portacandele. Penso che sia davvero bello e originale!
Una decorazione perfetta per una tavola estiva, magari su un balcone o nel mezzo di un giardino..e perchè non aggiungere un po' di erbe aromatiche fresche? ;-)

..step 3..let's get to work!
Obviously the step 3 it's started few weeks ago, a couple of days after the step 2.
I've decided to start working with different yarns, to see the final effect. In the pictures you can read the name of the yarns..I'm in love for all of them! The weather is helping me, it's quite cold, so, if it's not raining, I can work on my balcony..it's really nice.   
I don't want to show you the final results, let's keep it secrets! But I'm trying to imagine something different, using also nice fabrics and using the wool to create unexpected items. Let's get to work!

.. fase 3..mettiamoci al lavoro!
Ovviamente la fase 3 è iniziata qualche settimana fa, un paio di giorni dopo la fase 2.
Ho deciso di iniziare a lavorare con filati diversi, per vedere l'effetto finale. Nelle foto è possibile leggere il nome dei filati che sto utilizzando..mi sono innamorata perdutamente di tutti quanti! Il tempo mi sta aiutando, è piuttosto freddo, quindi se non piove posso lavorare sul mio balcone..è veramente bello.
Non voglio mostrarvi i risultati finali, teniamoli segreti! Ma sto cercando di immaginare qualcosa di diverso, utilizzando anche dei tessuti e utilizzando la lana per creare elementi inaspettati. Allora, mettiamoci al lavoro!

Hello everyone!
How are you? Last week I've missed so much this daily appointment with the blog and all of you, but I've enjoyed my parents company and now I'm happy to be here again.
It's Monday, so, it's means that is time for "This week on my coffee table". This is a kind of "recap" (since I don't have any new book at the moment), 4 of my favourite decor books that I showed you in the past months. But it's not for lazyness (!), there is a reason.. In the last months we started thinking to do the "big step".. guess what? 
Here are some clues: 
1) We are already married
2) I'm not ready to be a mom, sooooo ..
ok, I'm telling you: we were thinking to buy a house!
We're just at the beginning of this decision, we're not in a hurry because we like the blue apartment..but it's something that we're working on. Of course I'm super excited, but I have to keep my feet on the ground..and obvioulsy it's something that I'm not able to do! And that's the reason that explains the 4 books: I'm looking for inspirations, colors, atmospheres..at the moment for me is enough!

Ciao a tutti!
Come state? La scorsa settimana mi è mancato molto l'appuntamento quotidiano con il blog e con tutti voi, ma mi sono goduta la compagnia dei miei genitori e ora sono felice di essere qui di nuovo.
È lunedì, ciò significa che è il momento di "This week on my coffee table". Si tratta di una sorta di "riepilogo" (visto che non ho nessun nuovo libro al momento), 4 dei miei libri preferiti di arredamento che vi ho mostrato nei mesi scorsi. Ma non si tratta di pigrizia (!), c'è una ragione...
Negli ultimi mesi abbiamo iniziato a pensare di fare il "grande passo"... indovinate un po'? Vi do qualche indizio:
1) Siamo già sposati

2) Non sono pronta per essere mamma, quindiiiiii..

..ok, ve lo dico: stiamo penando di comprare una casa!
Siamo solo all'inizio di questa decisione, non abbiamo fretta perché ci piace il nostro "blue apartment".. ma è qualcosa su cui stiamo lavorando. Ovviamente io sono super emozionata, ma devo cercare di tenere i piedi per terra..e ovviamente è qualcosa che non sono in grado di fare! E questa è la ragione che spiega i 4 libri: sto cercando ispirazioni, colori, atmosfere..in questo momento per me è già abbastanza!

DIY: cross stitch decoration

I'm so happy about the decorations that I've made on my dresser, that now I can't stop to make cross stitch everywhere! 
And since some of you asked me how I did the drawings, I've decided to prepare a photographic tutorial that I hope can helps you. I've used two white vases and the permanent pens that I used also for the dresser (they are good for any kind of material, and water resistants). The procedure is really easy. First of all you have to drawing the decoration; I suggest you to use a simple pattern from internet or from a fabric that you have at home. Then clean and dry the vase. Start from the top of the decoration, following the pattern. Since are just crosses, it's easy to count them..but try to go straight! You can also use a piece of adhesive tape to help you. And don't worry, nobody can notice if you missed a cross! ;-)

Sono così contenta delle decorazioni che ho fatto sul mio comò, che ora non riesco a smettere di fare punto croce ovunque!
E siccome alcuni di voi mi hanno chiesto come ho fatto a realizzare i disegni, ho deciso di preparare un tutorial fotografico che spero vi aiuti. Ho usato due vasi bianchi e i pennarelli indelebili che ho usato anche per il comò (vanno bene su qualsiasi tipo di materiale e sono resistenti all'acqua). La procedura è molto semplice. Prima di tutto bisogna disegnare la decorazione, vi consiglio di utilizzare un modello semplice da internet o da un tessuto che avete in casa. Poi pulire e asciugare il vaso. Iniziate dalla parte superiore della decorazione, seguendo il modello. Dal momento che si tratta di realizzare delle crocette, è facile contarle..ma cercate di andare dritto! A questo proposito potreste utilizzare un pezzo di nastro adesivo per aiutarvi. E non preoccupatevi, nessuno noterà se vi siete persi una crocetta! ;-)
Bè, cosa ne pensate? Carino, non è vero?

The "granny" dresser

Hello everyone, happy monday!
The sun is shining and I'm writing this post sitting on my balcony..what a lovely day.
I hope that you enjoyed the weekend! I took advantage of this nice weather to spending some time with my husband, walking and biking around the city. 
But friday I've redecorated my dresser, do you remember the post? I've been so much inspired by all your comments and after two days of thinking, thursday night "I saw the light"! ;-)
I've decided to paint it in white and add some "granny style" decor: the inspiration is came from this pic that I've pinned few months ago in Pinterest. I said: why not? I'm able to draw quite well and I used as a model a tea towel that my mother-in-law gave me few years ago. 
I used permanent pens and after a sketch on my block note, I've made the drawings on the dresser. I've painted also the knobs using the same color that I have on the wall and I've re-covered the inside of the dresser with adhesive paper.


Well, what do you think?
I'm really happy about it, it's so much better now!

Ciao a tutti, felice lunedi!
Il sole splende e sto scrivendo questo post seduta sul mio balcone..ah, che bella giornata.
Spero che abbiate passato bene il fine settimana! Ho approfittato di questo bel tempo per trascorrere del tempo con mio marito, a piedi e in bicicletta per la città.
Ma venerdì ho finalmente ristrutturato il mio comò, vi ricordate il post? Sono stata molto ispirata da tutti i vostri commenti e dopo due giorni passati a pensare, giovedi notte "ho visto la luce"! ;-)
Ho deciso di dipingerlo di bianco e di aggiungere qualche decoro in "stile nonna": l'ispirazione è venuta da questa foto che ho pinnato alcuni mesi fa in Pinterest. Mi sono detta: perché no? Sono capace di disegnare abbastanza bene e ho usato come modello una tovaglietta da te' che la mamma di mio marito mi ha regalato qualche anno fa.
Ho usato pennarelli indelebili e dopo uno schizzo sul mio blocco, ho fatto i disegni sul comò. Ho dipinto anche le manopole con lo stesso colore che ho sul muro e ho ricoperto l'interno del cassettone con carta adesiva.


Bé, cosa ne pensate?
Io ne sono davvero felice, ora è molto meglio!

Thursday pics: yellow!

Every thursday I'm always happy to share with you some of my favourite pics that I made during the week. This week the inspiration is a color: yellow! It's not usual to see this color in my apartment, but I think that just a little touch it's really "vitaminic"! Few days ago I've been to the supermarket and I saw these lovely yellow flowers, they reminded me immediately wool pom poms! They're small chrysanthemums, a kind of flower that in Italy it's extremly underestimate. Infact, according to italian tradition, it's usual to buy them during the celebrations to remember death people at the beginning of November. That's why during the all year, nobody in Italy buy this flower (I'm pretty sure). It's so silly, I like them! 
And probably inspired by this color, yesterday I've bought a nice adhesive paper to renovate my china cabinet. What do you think?

Ogni giovedi sono sempre felice di condividere con voi alcune delle mie foto preferite che ho fatto durante la settimana. Questa settimana l'ispirazione è un colore: giallo! Non è facile vedere questo colore nel mio appartamento, ma penso che solo un piccolo tocco sia veramente "vitaminico"! Pochi giorni fa sono stata al supermercato e ho visto questi splendidi fiori gialli, mi hanno ricordato immediatamente dei pom pom di lana! Sono piccoli crisantemi, un tipo di fiore che in Italia è estremamente sottovalutato. Infatti, secondo la tradizione italiana, è solito comprarli durante le celebrazioni per ricordare i defunti all'inizio di novembre. Ecco perché durante tutto il resto dell'anno, nessuno in Italia acquista solitamente questo fiore (di questo ne sono abbastanza certa). E' un peccato, a me piacciono!
E probabilmente ispirata da questo colore, ieri ho comprato una carta adesiva opaca per rinnovare il mio buffet. Cosa ne dite?

Dresser inspirations

Finally I have a new dresser! A month ago I went to Amsterdam, to Van Dijk & Ko. , looking for a vintage dresser for my bedroom. I was looking for something classic, vintage and painted in white. Unfortunatelly at the moment I didn't find anything, but the shop girl was really nice with me and she asked me the size that I was looking for and my number, so in case something would arrived she would called me! And she called me a couple of day later, when I was in Amsterdam for the Meet the Blogger event and I've decided to go to the shop in the afternoon, with a lovely shop assistent: Iro! 

I've found this nice dresser, and I've bought it because has the perfect size that I was looking for (although it's not white!). So, now I'm searching some inspirations, and of course Pinterest is helping me a lot! These are three nice options: white and classic, colored with vintage wallpaper or graffiti style. And you, what do you think?

Finalmente ho un nuovo comò! Un mese fa sono andata ad Amsterdam, da Van Dijk & Ko. , alla ricerca di un comò vintage per la mia camera da letto. Stavo cercando qualcosa di classico, vintage e dipinto di bianco. Sfortunatamente non ho trovato nulla, ma la ragazza del negozio è stata davvero gentile e mi ha chiesto la dimensione che stavo cercando e il mio numero, così in caso qualcosa fosse arrivato mi avrebbe chiamato per avvisarmi! E mi ha chiamato un paio di giorni più tardi, proprio quando ero ad Amsterdam per l'evento Meet the Blogger e quindi ho deciso di prendere la palla al balzo e di andare al negozio nel pomeriggio, con una assistente d'eccezione: Iro!

Dopo esserci guardate attorno per una buona mezz'ora, ho trovato questo bel comò, e l'ho comprato perché è la dimensione ideale che stavo cercando (anche se non è bianco!). Così, ora sto cercando alcune ispirazioni e, naturalmente, Pinterest mi sta aiutando molto! Queste sono tre opzioni molto carine e molto diverse tra loro: bianco e classico, colorato con carta da parati vintage o stile graffiti. E voi, cosa ne pensate?
