This week on my coffee table: Granny Chic

Happy new week!! 
Let's start the week with a new book that I've reviewed for the column "This week on my coffee table".
Today we talk about Granny chic, a book filled with "crafty recipes and inspiration for the handmade home", wrote by two very talented Ladies, Tif Fussel from Dottie Angel, and Rachelle Blondel from Tales of Ted and Agnes {photography by Catherine Gratwicke}.
Let me start citing a sentence wrote on this book: "So if you too have a fondness for vintage fabrics, yarny goodness and forgotten finds with a tale to tell, then this book will be your cup of tea"...well, definitely my cup of tea then!
Just few words to explain how my review works: there is a recap page, with all the informations about the book where you can find also my vote. I express my vote with the number of the specs, from 1 to 5 {the vote it's just my personal opinion, I don't want to offend the writer/photographer/editor but just give to the readers my personal view}.

GRANNY CHIC

what I like:

♦ the first thing that I've noticed is the gorgeous graphic design, the photography and the fab kind of paper used;

♦ here and there there are some blank pages where you can write ideas or inspirations;

♦ the projects {recipes!} are affordable and various, for any kind of skills;

♦ the vintage-retro touch of the pictures;

♦ the inspirations come not only from the projects, but also from the pictures of Tif and Rachelle's lovely houses.

what I don't like:

♦ it's really difficult for me to find something in this book that I don't like..a weakness maybe..sometimes, in fact some terms are not easy to understand for whom is not english mother language and they cannot be translated {although the instructions are really easy to follow}.

Felice nuova settimana! 

Iniziamo subito subito la settimana con un nuovo libro che ho recensito per la rubrica "This week on my coffee table".

Oggi parliamo di Granny Chic, un libro pieno di "crafty recipes and inspiration for the handmade home", scritto da due signore di grande talento, Tif Fussel autrice del blog Dottie Angel, e Rachelle Blondel del blog Tales of Ted and Agnes {fotografia di Catherine Gratwicke}.

Vorrei iniziare citando una frase scritta in questo libro: "Se anche voi avete una passione per i tessuti vintage, le lane colorate e gli oggetti dimenticati con una storia da raccontare, allora questo libro sarà la vostra tazza di tè"...beh, sicuramente la mia!

Solo poche parole per spiegare come funziona la mia recensione: c'è una pagina di riepilogo con tutte le informazioni relative al libro in cui è possibile trovare anche il mio voto. Il mio voto è contrassegnato con il numero degli occhiali, da 1 a 5 {ribadisco che il voto è soggettivo, non voglio offendere lo scrittore/fotografo/editore, ma esprimere la mia opinione ai miei lettori).

GRANNY CHIC

quello che mi piace:

♦ la prima cosa che ho notato è lo strepitoso progetto grafico, la fotografia eccezionale e il favoloso tipo di carta utilizzata;

♦ qua e là ci sono alcune pagine bianche in cui è possibile annotare idee e ispirazioni;

♦ i progetti {che sono chiamati ricette!} sono vari e accessibili per ogni tipo di competenze, a partire dal livello principiante fino alle crefter più incallite;

♦ il tocco vintage-retrò delle immagini;

♦ le ispirazioni provengono non solo dai progetti, ma anche dalle foto delle case di Tif e Rachelle.

quello che non mi piace:

♦ è davvero difficile per me trovare qualcosa in questo libro che non mi piace..una debolezza magari..a volte, infatti, alcuni termini non sono facili da capire per chi non è madrelingua inglese e non sono traducibili {anche se le istruzioni sono scritte in modo semplice e per nulla complicato}.
